Hosting a Workshop
If you are interested in hostingĀ a LAM workshop the following is a general guideline of our requirements.
Overview of the Workshop
Our complete workshop covers eighteen sessions and requires five days. The daily sessions run all day, usually from 9 or 9:30am until 9pm. There is a one and a half to two hour lunch and dinner break. There will often be activities planned for couples and small groups while they are eating lunches and dinners.
We are willing to discuss doing shorter workshops and not cover all of the material if the five day workshop isn’t workable for you.
Minimum Registration
We ask for a minimum of 30 couples registered to attend.
Costs
The cost is $500 per couple for the five day workshop.
The revenue from the registrants will cover:
-Speaker honorariums/salary
-Travel expenses
-Hotel expenses (We are willing to consider staying with a family)
-The cost of the workshop manuals
-Registration expenses through Bethel Church
Hosting Organization’s Responsibilities
We ask the hosting church or organization to provide:
-A meeting facility large enough to accommodate all of the registered participants
-Tables (round tables are ideal) to accommodate eight persons (4 couples) to create an atmosphere that is conducive to small group discussion and prayer
-A facility that is easily accessible to hotels and restaurants for the participants.
-Transportation to and from the airport and to and from the workshop meeting location for the workshop leaders.
-Snacks/drinks for participants during the workshop
-Meals for speakers
Larger Workshops
If there is a large registration (over 30 couples) we will discuss how we can help offset some of the hosting organization’s expenses. Any additional surplus revenue will go to Bethel Church’s Community Life Department to help fund personnel and programs.
Scholarships
If you have couples who sincerely want to attend the workshop but have a legitimate financial need, we will discuss the possibility of reduced cost scholarships with you. This will be especially feasible if there are more than 30 couples registered.
